Wing Zone's Matt Friedman was recently featured in a segment on FOX Business, After the Bell titled, "Great Time for Businesses to Expand?". The segment explores why Wing Zone's Matt Friedman, along with Philly Pretzel Factory's CEO Dan DiZio and Checkers CEO Rick Silva are expanding their companies in this economy.

Every January, people make resolutions to lose weight, stay away from fatty foods, and save money, all of which can be accomplished by staying away from restaurants - fast food and takeout restaurants in particular. Naturally, restaurants launch some of their most tempting deals at this time of year, making it extra difficult to keep those resolutions.

Toward the end of every calendar year, Americans splurge on holiday gifts and parties. Budges and diets are temporarily banished, often with the idea that we'll make amends to our financial statements and waistlines come January.

 With many diners across the country still trying to make good on their New Year’s resolutions to stick to a healthier diet, Wing Zone is trying to cash in on their hard-fought efforts.Its newest chicken product, Skinny Dippers—unbreaded, 100 percent white chicken breast that’s fried and flavored-fused in one of the brand’s 17 flavors—plays up this health angle.
“It looks like it’s a grilled item, so it’s got kind of the healthier halo,” says Dan Corrigan, Wing Zone’s marketing manager. “So launching it at the beginning of the year when everyone’s got their New Year’s resolution—and for those looking to eat a better solution for you—it’s definitely better and healthier than our original and boneless wings.”

Chain aims to draw more female customers with boneless, unbreaded version of chicken wings.

Wing Zone has launched Skinny Dippers, a boneless, unbreaded version of their chicken wings that the company hopes will bring more female customers into stores.

“Generally, wings are seen as the guy’s meal while watching the game,” said Dan Corrigan, marketing manager at Atlanta-based Wing Zone. “This is healthier than regular boneless wings because it’s unbreaded.”

Bowie resident a real wing man in nationwide contest

John Padukiewicz is king of the wings.

He is the winner of a nationwide Wing Zone contest asking America to come up with the next wing flavor.

Bowie is home to one of several Wing Zone restaurants across the country, and Padukiewicz was “floored” when he heard he won.

“I really just entered to get the 10 free wings,” he said, explaining that anyone who submitted an original flavor idea received 10 free wings.
