The founders of an Atlanta-based restaurant franchise think their 17 chicken wing flavors are a good fit for the Sacramento region.
Wing Zone plans to open 10 to 15 locations in the Sacramento region over the next five years, according to Matt Friedman, the company's co-founder and CEO. The restaurant currently has no California locations.
Friedman called Sacramento his "first choice in developing our first units in California."
"We feel Sacramento is a great market to enter,"he said". "We like the population size."
Friedman and his business partner founded the company 21 years ago, right after graduating from the University of Floriday. The fast-casual restaurant now has locations in 18 states, as well as internationally. The company does especially well in college markets, Friedman said.
