Get to Know your Business Partner

In 1991, friends Matt Friedman and Adam Scott were fraternity brothers at the University of Florida who shared a common dream to have their own business. They started making Buffalo wings and homemade sauces for students around campus, and the concept of Wing Zone was born. Today, with nearly 100 locations around the country, these two business partners and friends give us their tips on how to create (and maintain) a good business partnership:

• Be a good communicator.
• Be ready to work (all the time).
• Be cognizant of your roles. "Understand what each partner's main focus is," says Scott, who takes care of the technical, financial and legal matters, while Friedman specializes in the overall direction of the company, marketing and menu planning.
• Be passionate about what you do.
